Time Warner Cable, the nation’s second-largest cable TV provider, has renewed its multi-year agreement with Outdoor Channel. Under this contract, the Connecticut-based cable company will feature the Outdoor Channel in standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD), while providing video-on-demand (VOD) programming.
“We are excited to have reached this multi-year agreement with one of our largest distribution partners,” stated Tom Hornish, COO of Outdoor Channel Holdings. “This agreement enables us to continue providing our category leading content to outdoor enthusiasts nationwide as well as drive our high-definition network and video-on-demand content.”
Offering programming on fishing, shooting, hunting, adventure, and off-road motorsports, Outdoor Network is the leading outdoor television channel in the United States. This spring, the California-based network will run a month-long campaign celebrating outdoor activities. Outdoor Network’s spring promotion will award registered viewers, including more than 30 million subscribers, with prizes.
News of the partnership between Outdoor Network and Time Warner Cable follows the recent premiere of Outdoor Channel HD in the cable provider’s North and South Carolina markets. With this extension, the network can potentially reach an additional 2 million homes.
Outdoor Channel subscribers will enjoy an exciting line-up for the second quarter, including Savage Wild, starring Manny Puig, famous stunt expert from MTV’s Jackass. Watch as Puig navigates the unknown without the conveniences provided by modern technology; Adventure Guides, which captures the daily events of fishing guides. This show chronicles the triumphs and disappointments of fly, bass, and salt fishermen in various bodies of water; Archer’s Choice, featuring Ralph and Vicki Cianciarulo, “North America’s Favorite Hunting Couple.” Watch as this couple inspires a heightened understanding and respect of hunting, suitable for the whole family; and Step Outside, a program that encourages outdoor enthusiasts to include friends and family members in traditional outdoor activities.
