Reality TV Math -- Kate Minus Jon, Plus 8

Cable television's favorite couple has quickly turned into TV's favorite soon-to-be divorced couple. TLC network's "Jon and Kate Plus 8" will have to revamp it's premise, if it is to continue filming. Beginning on November 2nd "Kate Plus 8" will commence, leaving Jon out of the house and off the reality TV show. According to Eileen O'Neill, president of TLC, this shift is the natural solution to the dynamic shift.

"The family has evolved, and we are attempting to evolve with it," O'Neill said.

How will Emmy voters feel about this adjustment? Last year, despite the top-ranking of "Jon and Kate Plus 8," the program failed to win the best reality program award at the Emmys. Perhaps Kate's struggle as a single mother will resonate more with Emmy voters. Sympathy vote? We shall see! There is always something fun to watch when you have Time Warner Cable TV!!
