NBA Hall of Fame Nets New Inductees

On Friday, 9/11, an elite group of basketball superstars were inducted into the Hall of Fame. Michael Jordan, a.k.a. Mr. Chicago Bulls, John Stockton, record-breaking ex-Utah Jazz point guard, and David Robinson, former San Antonio Spurs center, were the NBA players to receive this honor. John Stockton is the all-time leader in NBA assists and steals; Michael Jordon led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships; and David Robinson was named an NBA all-star ten times. I was thankful for all the great cable TV and radio coverage of this event; it really helped our entire family feel like we were participating in the celebration!

Two coaches, Jerry Sloan and C. Vivian Stringer were also inducted into the Hall of Fame. Jerry Sloan, long-time Utah Jazz coach, ranks fourth for his NBA win-loss coaching record. C. Vivian Stringer, Rutgers University women's coach, holds one of the most impressive records in the history of women's basketball.

Coverage of the 2009 Hall of Fame ceremony aired on NBA TV, allowing cable television subscribers to watch live footage of this historical event.
