Fastest RoadRunner Ever

Time Warner Cable has launched a new and upgraded RoadRunner.com customer portal for users subscribed to its high-speed Internet service. The re-launch of the upgraded platform was built based on customer research and user testing. The new site is the first major upgrade in four years and offers significantly accelerated load times, providing an optimal environment in which customers can enjoy video, photos and other web content. The portal is the first of many enhancements planned for 2009.

Up-to-the-minute local and national news, sports, and entertainment, and much more directly from the homepage, is to be delivered by the new Road Runner portal. A new, simple, clean user interface will also allow users to have one click access to email, horoscopes, weather, and cable provider websites.

Top-of-the-line security products (anti-virus, anti-spam, firewall and parental controls) along with 52 channels of commercial free Road Runner Radio music, CNN and Showtime videos, and photo sharing software will be available to Road Runner customers.

Now RoadRunner.com brings those speeds to its own portal page, giving customers a Web interface that delivers the content they want in a way that’s simple and easy.”

Road Runner, originally launched in 1997 in Columbus, OH and named after the speedy Warner Bros. character, plans to add additional features in the future, which may include enhanced local maps, traffic data, and integrated cable TV listings.

As of September 2008, Time Warner cable has served more than 14.7 million customers who subscribed to one or more of its video, high-speed data and voice services, representing approximately $34.2 million in revenue. With the launch of its upgraded platform, the company hopes that it can build upon both of these aspects.
