One of the most successful "American Idol" winners to date, season four's Carrie Underwood, has agreed to star in Fox Network's two-hour holiday special on December 7th. The Grammy award-winning country star will headline the event, performing new music from her upcoming album. Underwood will also perform hit singles from the past, and of course, Christmas classics.
Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley and David Cook are set to join Underwood on stage as special musical guests. Other performers are to be announced in the coming weeks.
Nigel Lythgoe, executive producer of "American Idol," and Adam Shankman, one of the most successful filmmakers of our time, are producing and directing the televised holiday special.
